Football writer Mark Robinson names his greatest ever Adelaide side as we invite fans to build their own Crows Dream Team of the past 30 years

As we get to the pointy end of our poll to find the ultimate Crows side of the club’s first 30 years in the AFL, it’s legendary footy writer Mark ‘Robbo’ Robinson’s turn to assemble his dream team.

Robbo has picked a team with a full-forward line he believes would be the most exciting in the game but has also saved room for “blue collar” players.

He discusses his team with Advertiser football reporter Simeon Thomas-Wilson.

Simeon Thomas-Wilson: So Robbo it’s a strong team you have selected tell us about it?

Mark Robinson: Well they have plenty of 250 game plus players like Richard Douglas who I like. I have him on the bench in my side. He was just a real solid player for about 15-years.

A controversial one might be Patrick Dangerfield.

STW: Well he probably deserves to be in there, although Crows fans still harbour some deep grudges.

MR: He is a starter for me, he played just shy of a 150 games for them. He is a standout for Crows, he had a great career in Adelaide.

STW: Who else have you gone for?

MR: I have Daniel Talia ahead of Nathan Bock, Talia has been one of the best stopping key defenders of the last decade in footy. That’s why I have him. Ben Hart as well, a terrific player he did jobs week in week out so they are in my back line.

STW: You also have Michael Doughty on your bench I see.

MR: Another solid citizen for the Crows. I just like him, he was blue collar.

STW: How about at the exciting end of the ground, you have Tony Modra and Taylor Walker in your side.

MR: They haven’t got too many other key forwards do they? I did contemplate Shane Ellen with his five goals in a grand final but Tex’s overall career is probably better.

STW: You’ve got what I suspect many would be picking as their full-forward line.

MR: I don’t think there would be a more exciting full-forward line in the game. Eddie Betts, Tony Modra, Darren Jarman. For a full-forward line that is massive.
