“Kick me the bloody ball.” That’s what Eddie Betts has told his teammates to do this weekend if he’s in the same pocket from which he has kicked the last two AFL goals of the year on indigenous round.

EDDIE Betts turned the tables on reporters at today’s press conference to promote indigenous round by asking them what would they do if they were playing at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night?
Quizzing Betts who has kicked goal of the year in indigenous round from the same pocket the past two years, journalists were taken aback when Betts started asking questions.
“The last two years I’ve won goal of the year in that left hand pocket, two different types of goals, so I’ll ask you a question ‘if I’m in that pocket this week and you had the ball what would you do?’” Betts said.
His question was met by a lengthy pause.
“Kick me the ball, that’s what I’ve told the boys, if I’m in that pocket kick me the bloody ball.”
So is that an official instruction?
“Yes it is, only in that pocket though,” Betts said with a smile.
The superstar small forward has also explained why he had to make a banner for his sons Lewis and Billy to run through at home after his eldest boy Lewis, was upset he couldn’t run through the real thing against the Dockers on Saturday night.
How adorable is this! ð

“Lewie is going to be a mascot this week, we have 22 mascots we hold hands and walk out with but I told Lewie ‘you’re not running through the banner, you’re going to be pushed to the side before we run through the banner’.
“He was very upset by that so I had to make a banner at home, put on the music and little Billy was loving it running through.”
But Lewis won’t even be holding his dad’s hand on Saturday night.
“Nup, he wanted Charlie Cameron. He actually said Brodie Smith but I asked him the other night and he said ‘na I want Charlie Cameron.”
The Crows will wear a jumper designed by a Kaurna elder this weekend.
“We’ve got the spears and if you haven’t heard the story yet jump online because it’s fantastic.
“It talks about the Kuarna people and going to war or battle.”
