ADELAIDE forward Josh Jenkins has lit the fuse for a potentially fiery preliminary final clash with Geelong and former teammate Patrick Dangerfield saying he would love to make the Brownlow Medallist regret his decision to leave.

Speaking on Fox Footy yesterday, Jenkins was asked what it would mean to play the Cats if they make it through next week’s semi-final.

Adelaide will host the winner of Geelong and Sydney in the preliminary final on Friday, September 22.

Jenkins said the Crows would be confident no matter who they played for a shot at the grand final but pressed on whether he would love to beat Dangerfield, who left the Crows in 2015, Jenkins said “100 per cent”.

“They do have to get there first so they’ve got to take care of their business, but if he marches into town with his Geelong teammates there would be nothing better than beating him,” Jenkins said of his friend and former ally.

“And reminding him that perhaps he should have stuck around with us and he could be a Brownlow Medallist and a premiership player.”

J

enkins also confirmed captain Taylor Walker was behind the idea for the Crows to take their warrior-like stance during the national anthem before Thursday’s qualifying final.

While the Giants lined up arm-in-arm before the game, Crows players stood a foot apart with their arms by their side. “I think Tex might be able to lay claim on that one,” Jenkins told Fox Footy.

“It was a collective leadership group thing but I think Tex might have been the man behind that idea. So it worked for us but I know people are thinking it was us trying to intimidate the opposition but it was more about flicking the switch for us.”
