Bone rates the Crows players in their team’s big win over Port

CHRIS McDermott finds plenty to like as he rates the Crows after their imposing win over the Power in Showdown 40.

BRAD CROUCH: 6 Got off to a flyer hunting the ball and the body. His improvement will be slow and steady given the amount of footy he has missed but this was much better.

JOSH JENKINS: 7 Four first-half goals only increased his status in the game. Gave another three away and once again increased his value to this team.

SCOTT THOMPSON: 7 Plenty of ball early and was a dominant player all day, appearing to run unchecked for most of it. Ball use good and 10 tackles underpins his value.

JAKE LEVER: 7 At his efficient, steady best in a faultless display early, and continued to intercept countless Power threats with his fearless attack on the ball.

RORY SLOANE: 7 Good amount of ball again and continues to produce an excellent all-round game, filling any holes that may suddenly appear. Not sure they have found the best place for him this year.

PAUL SEEDSMAN: 6 Had little to do in the first half but some good moments none the less. Worked into the game nicely and, like Brad Couch, a significant improvement on his first game last week.

DANIEL TALIA: 8 Rarely troubled early. Defensively brilliant but offence still minimal. Asked to do more as Power’s game improved but had Dixon well under control for every minute of the game.

TAYLOR WALKER: 5 Miracle goal to start the second quarter put the result beyond doubt. Looks set for a massive season. Was able to take a back seat late and direct traffic as he allowed his helpers to enjoy the day.

DAVID MACKAY:6 Great start after a tough first game. Some signs of the old D Mac with his run and carry on the outer wing. Six inside 50s and a couple of rebounds a good indication of the ground he covered.

KYLE HARTIGAN: 5 Rarely troubled in first half but a couple of shakey moments in the second. Pretty good performance overall on a potentially dangerous Power forward line.

LUKE BROWN: 6 Little to do in the first half but ended up with some very good numbers despite minimal need for tough defence.

EDDIE BETTS: 8 Two goals in the first five minutes then another to start the third term in another very good day for the livewire. Ended up with five and gave another three away.

RORY ATKINS: 5. One of only a few quiet players for the Crows. Found it difficult to get involved early as the Crows exerted their dominance. Better late and got some nice touches.

SAM JACOBS: 7 The man who got the Crows started with a dominant display at stoppages giving his midfield a very comfy ride. Appeared to tire and will need to be closely watched.

KYLE CHENEY: 4 Quiet, especially early and while he tried hard to get involved, the game was all but over well before half time.

RICHARD DOUGLAS: 4 Horror miss early was not the start he was looking for and game didn’t get much better for the rest of the day.

TOM LYNCH: 8 Three goals in the first half and played a big part in a dominant Crows front six. Another three in the second half in another outstanding day from this man.

RORY LAIRD: 7 Huge first term running hard from defence and creating numerous scoring opportunities. Capable of good minutes in the midfield but defence is his true home.

WAYNE MILERA: 6 Brilliant moments early showing great pace and composure and a couple of very special involvements later in the game as he finds his feet at this level.

BRODIE SMITH: 6 Worked himself into the game but not one of his more memorable days. Still provided good amount of rebound.

MITCH MCGOVERN: 5 Nice mark and equally nice early goal. Finished with two and gave another away in another good performance, and a step up again from his debut last week.

MATT CROUCH: 6 Plenty of ball once again and more minutes in this game as a result. Good again at stoppage and good in close as usual.
