THE Adelaide Football Club has intervened in the social media feud between Taylor ‘Tex’ Walker and tennis player Nick Kyrgios but has not disciplined its club captain.

Speaking publicly for the first time this morning about the spat conducted on Twitter, Walker, 25, confirmed to Triple M Radio that the Crows hierarchy had not told him to ‘pull his head in’.

“Things might have got carried away but you know me boys I certainly like to voice my opinion and I just thought I’d let him know what I thought,” Walker said.

“I just get frustrated when I see talented people not use their talent.

“They (Adelaide Football Club) just told me not to go over the line and leave it there.”

The Twitter war began when Walker, on holiday in Hawaii called the bad boy of Australian Tennis, via his Twitter account, “a dead set flog!!” for his behaviour during a tournament in Shanghai. that produced an angry response.

‘When is this absolute Galoot going to learn. What a dead set flog!! Just suspend the peanut!!,’’ Walker wrote in a tweet that was trending in Adelaide within minutes.

Never slow to defend himself Kyrgios, 20, fired back hours later, “I don’t even know who Tex Walker is lol’’.

Walker said he had made an approach to Kyrgios to settle matters in a sporting arena but was yet to hear back.

“We’ll see if we can sort it out on court and have a muck around tennis game,” Walker added.

“I still waiting to see what he says but he’s probably warming up for the Australian Open so I don’t know if I’ll hear back from him anymore.”

Walker said he was yet to meet with Crows new coach, Don Pyke, but was “looking forward” to catching up this week.

He expressed confidence the trade deal that would take Paul Seedsman from Collingwood to the Crows.
