Crows tough onballer Richard Douglas will miss Friday’s game against Sydney at the SCG after damaging his ankle.
Crows assistant coach Scott Camporeale said it had been confirmed that Douglas had a high ankle sprain and will definitely miss round two.
“No doubt about that, Camporeale said.
“He’ll get another scan and he’ll see a specialist this week to see if there’s any further damage, but he definitely won’t play this week.”
Following Saturday’s 32-point loss to Hawthorn, Crows Science and Medical Services Coordinator Steve Saunders said: “Richard has sustained a right syndesmosis, or high ankle sprain in a twisting, tackling mechanism in the fourth quarter.
“As he sustained a similar ankle injury last year, scans will be required tomorrow and re-evaluation mid-week is necessary to better understand the extent of injury and to formulate his management plan.”
