Adelaide Crows hit the golf course as they try to snap their winless streak against Geelong on Sunday
They’re anchored to the bottom of the ladder and in desperate need of a reboot, so the Crows hit the golf course to break their funk – and our photographer was there.

They aren’t allowed to go to the pub and all 44 players can’t go to the coach’s house for a barbecue, but the winless Crows were allowed to hit the golf course as a team on Tuesday.
In a bid to boost morale and camaraderie in what has been a horror season so far, Adelaide players turned up to the Glanville Par 3 golf course at Semaphore.
Searching for some fresh air, a change of environment and a few laughs as they come to terms with a club record 12-game losing streak this year, the Crows made the most of a welcome break from West Lakes as they prepare to host Geelong this Sunday.
The Glanville course was closed from 9am to 1pm to accommodate the Crows who are having to abide by the AFL’s COVID-19 rules which restrict them from activities such as going to restaurants or pubs.
Several Crows take their golf reasonably seriously, including former skipper Taylor Walker, the Crouch brothers and Paul Seedsman.
“It’s a bit of fun, get around each other, and do something outside of football because you obviously can’t do too much through the Covid period so it’s nice to get out here as a team - free the mind up and get out and swing the clubs,” Seedsman said.
“Surprisingly Rob (Reilly O’Brien) has just stuck one close to the pin and I didn’t think he’d have any touch but he looks to go alright. Bit Strachany goes alright (as well).
“Everyone seems up and about, it’s tough times coming off a tough loss on the weekend which we will review tomorrow but for the time being it’s good to be out here and enjoy each other’s company.”
Adelaide will start underdogs for their game against the Cats at Adelaide Oval on Sunday but motivation should be high as they mark Walker’s 200th game.
“Big Tex’s 200th, a much loved figure at the club and all the boys just love him to bits, he’s been a great leader at the footy club and deserves a big 200th and a big win so no doubt we’re up against it with Geelong – we saw how good they were last week – but the boys will be fired up for the Texan,” Crows defender Brodie Smith told The Lowdown Podcast.
