It’s all about the positive vibe at West Lakes this pre-season, and rising star Wayne Milera has bought into it.
The former Central District youngster signed a five-year contract extension with the Crows on Thursday, which is a massive show of faith in not only the club, but new coach Matthew Nicks.

The 22-year-old, who has played 60 games since his debut in 2016, said he was delighted to get it all out the way before the start of the 2020 season.
“It’s awesome, I’m absolutely pumped to get it out of the way before the season starts,” he said.
“I got it out the way and done, it was a pretty simple, pain free process.
“I’ve got another five years at the club, I love it here and everything they’ve done for me.
“I opted for the longer deal, security and where the club’s going, I’m pretty excited about it.
“New coach, a great vibe around the club, I’m excited about the next five years.
“I love the vibe at the moment at the club everyone’s up and about, it’s been freshened up.
“The boys are flying and everyone’s loving being here.”

The Crows have had a large exodus from their playing list as well as the departure of coach Don Pyke this off-season, but Milera said he’s enjoyed the fresh change.
“Pre-season can be tough at times, but it’s easy coming in here and training with the boys all up and about,” he said.
“It’s a freshen up, (Matthew) Nicksy’s brought in some new stuff.
“We’re learning a new game plan, it’s not the same stuff.”
Milera spent time in a variety of roles in 2019, including up forward, but believes his best football is down back and he expects that’s where he’ll spend most of his time this season.
“I think I play my best footy down back, with spurts in the midfield,” he said.
“I’m happy to play down back, through the midfield, on a wing.
“I’m not sure of the exact split, but I’d say I’d start on half-back and then go in the midfield.
“I think it’s important you can play multiple roles, situations may happen during a game and you may be required to play a different role.”
