ADELAIDE chief executive Andrew Fagan has dismissed reports that he is poised to quit the club, describing the talk as “a bit of a joke’’.
“I’m here, I’m locked in at Adelaide,’’ he said when questioned about his future on Thursday.
“I have been amused — as have my family and friends and others — to read reports sometimes about where apparently I’m working.
“It’s been a bit of a joke internally here (at the Crows).’’
Fagan joined Adelaide in 2014 from his role as general manager of national teams with the Australian Rugby Union.
In replacing Steven Trigg, he became the Crows’ first “outsider’’ in the chief executive’s chair.
A self-described career sports administrator, he has been linked with jobs in cricket, rugby and rugby league.
But Fagan shot down those reports on Thursday, suggesting he was “locked in’’ for the long haul.
And he rubbished suggestions he had fallen out with members of the Crows’ board.
“My relationship with the board, yep, it’s all good,’’ he said.
“I am loving my time at the footy club and really excited about the direction in which things are heading.’’
