There’s no denying Nick Daicos had a stellar season in 2024, but could it be a record-breaking year? See every vote from every game in our 2024 Brownlow Predictor.

This year’s Brownlow Medal count is set to be one of the more extraordinary in recent memory.

Our SuperFooty Predictor has Nick Daicos and Patrick Cripps going head-to-head right to the final round of the season where the winner of ‘Charlie’ will be determined.

Lachie Neale isn’t far off the pace of the leaders, but it would be a big surprise if he could cause an upset for the second-year running and claim his third medal.

We’ve analysed every match of every round to provide you a guide as to how the 2024 Brownlow Medal race will play out.

Last year, Daicos led the way on 28 votes after round 18 and then failed to poll in his last six matches, three of which he didn’t participate.

In 2024 the Collingwood champion played every match and finished the season in prolific form, opening the door for a huge tally of votes come late September.

The SuperFooty Predictor has Daicos breaking the all-time record for Brownlow votes in a season with 37, while Cripps finishes equal with the previous record held by Dustin Martin and Ollie Wines on 36.

THRILLING FINISH

After a quieter round 22, all three of Daicos, Cripps and Neale had a strong final two games to push their respective cases to win the Brownlow Medal.

In round 24 Daicos and Neale are all but locked into three votes each following 40-disposal games, but the Carlton captain is in a fight for votes in the Blues loss to the Saints.

Cripps’ 30 disposals, eight clearances and nine tackles puts him right in the frame to poll and had Carlton defeated St Kilda you’d have him lined up for two or three votes.

But Jack Higgins’ late snap sunk the Blues and makes the voting even more interesting with history showing it’s much harder to poll in a losing side.

There were no standout St Kilda players, with the top four ball winners on the ground all in navy blue.

Jack Sinclair and Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera loom as the two Saints in with a shot at taking major votes away from Cripps.

For Carlton, Nic Newman racked up 35 touches and 16 marks while Sam Walsh and George Hewett found plenty of the footy in the midfield.

The SuperFooty Predictor handed Cripps the one vote from the game, but he could realistically poll two or three or even miss completely.

That solitary vote isn’t enough for the Blues skipper to hang on in the SuperFooty Predictor, with Daicos moving one vote clear of Cripps.

So keep your eye out for that penultimate game of the AFL season which could determine who walks away with a Brownlow Medal.

CONTESTED CLUB COUNTS

There will be some fascinating battles to see which players lead their club’s Brownlow count on September 23rd.

The two cellar dwellers in North Melbourne and Richmond look like they will have tightly contested leaderboards.

For the Roos, Harry Sheezel and Luke Davies-Uniacke are neck and neck. Despite Sheezel missing the final two matches, North Melbourne were belted in both games so Davies-Uniacke won’t be polling votes anyway. SuperFooty has got the younger Kangaroo finishing just ahead of LDU.

For the Tigers, you could throw a blanket over a handful of contenders. In a two-win season your club isn’t going to receive many votes, and SuperFooty is predicting Daniel Rioli to be the only Tiger to poll post round 13.

At St Kilda, Rowan Marshall’s barnstorming finish to the year is matched by teammate Jack Steele. SuperFooty has got both Steele and Marshall polling 11 votes in the final nine rounds of the season, with the Saints skipper’s terrific opening month of the campaign enough to finish ahead of Marshall.

Hawthorn, Melbourne and West Coast are the other three counts that loom as close battles.
