What do we do with under-performing Dustin Martin, plus Round 7’s top scores and teams

PATRICK Dangerfield was meant to be the high-price risk this SuperCoach season. Instead, it’s Dustin Martin giving his 100,000-plus owners headaches. SEE ROUND 7’s TOP TEAMS

THERE were plenty of doubts over Patrick Dangerfield this SuperCoach off-season.

It saw Dustin Martin start 2018 with almost 60 per cent ownership but the Tigers ace has not produced the goods.

The first two weeks it was business as usual as Dusty pumped out 139 and 160.

However, the Brownlow Medallist has gone 93, 141, 88, 87 in the past month with his last two games particularly troubling.

The Tigers had easy wins over Collingwood and Fremantle and Martin could muster only 18 and 11 disposals respectively.

Is he spending more time forward? Well, he hasn’t been hitting the scoreboard either, kicking a single goal against the Magpies and a wasteful 0.4 against the Dockers.

So, what does this mean for SuperCoach? No one is actually considering trading him are they?

Martin is priced at $564,600 after losing 43k this week for a season loss of $91,400.

You’d need a little over $60,000 to upgrade to SuperCoach’s No.1 scorer Jack Macrae while Danger - who’s average is only three points lower than Martin’s - will cost you another $55k.

We hope Dusty busts out of his current funk but don’t hold your breath this week ... North Melbourne stopper Ben Jacobs waits on Sunday.

He had 10 contested possessions, five tackles, three clearances and 64 SuperCoach points from 84 per cent game time.

MATT CROUCH

It hasn’t taken Crouch long to find form after a hamstring injury, finishing with 32 disposals, 11 contested possessions, five clearances and four tackles from 79 per cent game time against Carlton. He also scored 122 SuperCoach points, but he still dropped by $27,900 on the back of an earlier fall of $47,000.
