Top 30 most popular KFC SuperCoach players revealed

SuperCoach players will be watching closely when the season restarts on Thursday night with two Tigers and a Magpie in the top four most selected players. But they aren’t the big surprise.

Two Tigers are in the top four most popular KFC SuperCoach players leading into Thursday night’s season restart.

And splitting them is a star Magpie, ensuring plenty of interest from players of Australia’s biggest fantasy game when the Pies and Tigers face off at the MCG.

Marlion Pickett’s star continues to rise and he’s in almost 80 per cent of SuperCoach sides despite playing just two AFL games. superstar teammate Dustin Martin is in 65,6 per cent, just behind Brodie Grundy, whose massive $705,900 price tag hasn’t scared off buyers — and fair enough after he scored 179 points in Round 1.

The other player in the top four is Gold Coast’s No. 1 draft pick Matt Rowell (72.2 per cent) while the big bolter in the top five is Suns teammate Connor Budarick. He was in about 30 per cent of teams a week out from Round 1 but now sits in 61.9 per cent, no doubt helped by the fact he was the cheapest player ($106,900) to get a game in the opening round.

Cheapies Jarrod Brander, Max King and Tom Green are also in the top 10, with KFC SuperCoach players crossing their fingers all keep their spot when the season resumes.

Amazingly, Max Gawn just scrapes into the top 30 despite being the second-highest scorer behind Grundy last season.

And he could be displaced before lockout with Docker Sam Sturt – the highest-scoring rookie of Round 1 breathing down his neck.

At the other end of the scale, Mitch Duncan (0.4 per cent of teams), Seb Ross (0.4 per cent), Luke Parker (0.6 per cent) and Travis Boak (0.8 per cent) are all virtually unloved despite each scoring over 100 points in Round 1.
