This is not a drill. Patrick Dangerfield can be selected as a forward in SuperCoach next year. But the news isn’t all good as the dual-position players for 2019 are revealed.

THERE’S big news in the world of SuperCoach. Big. News.

With the SuperCoach 2019 Team Picker opening quickly approaching, we can now reveal some of the major positional changes for the new season.

And the names don’t come any bigger than SuperCoach god Patrick Dangerfield.

That’s right! Patrick Dangerfield is now available as a Midfield-Forward in SuperCoach.

The Geelong superstar is not the only fantasy favourite now available as a dual position player with the likes of Justin Westhoff, Tim Kelly, Lachie Weller and Devon Smith earning new positions.

However, it’s not good news for fans of Jordan De Goey, James Sicily and Angus Brayshaw who are now only available in single positions.

Dangerfield spent 37 per cent of game time in 2018 playing as a forward, just above Champion’s 35 per cent threshold for dual-position status.

While his 24 goals were 21 down on his 2017 output, he was ranked No.5 in the AFL for goal assists and No.2 at Geelong for disposals won inside forward 50, behind only spearhead Tom Hawkins.

Joining him as a midfield/forward is teammate Kelly, who spent 42 per cent of game time in 2018 as a forward.

Port Adelaide star Westhoff has played multiple positions across his 248-game career but is now officially a ruck/forward after spending 35 per cent of game time n the ruck last season, averaging a career-high 8.3 hitouts.

The SuperCoach news isn’t all good, with a number of players losing dual-position status for 2019.

Jordan De Goey was a midfield/forward in 2018 but spent just 30 per cent of game time in the middle while ranking 10th in the AFL for scoreboard impact. Next year he is a pure forward along with Tigers Josh Caddy and Kane Lambert.

And James Sicily has lost his swing-man tag after playing 96 per cent of game time in defence last season.
