Nat Fyfe (MID $651,600)
Will again take some catching as Fremantle’s top SuperCoach scorer after recording the third 120-point average of his career last year.
Stephen Hill (DEF, FWD $190,600)
Enjoying a good preparation after just 16 games in the past two seasons and is far better than injury-riddled three-game average of 39 suggests. There’s risk but get on.
Hayden Young (DEF $180,300)
Joked about SuperCoach in his draft interview, averaged 129 points in the NAB League last year and the Dockers need some more skilful ball-users. A definite threat.
Andrew Brayshaw (FWD, MID $382,800)
Has the coach excited after a terriffic start to the 2020 campaign and looks set for an increased midfield role this year. Scored 86 points or more in the four of the final seven games of 2019 and is a likely improver. Consider.
Michael Walters (FWD $547,200)
Coming off a career-best season which saw the mercurial 29-year-old add 13 points to his SuperCoach average after posting 12 SuperCoach tons. Expect similar this time around.
Liam Henry (FWD, MID $171,300)
The exciting Academy product, who averaged 93 points at the Under-18 national carnival, is likely to add immediate spark to the Dockers’ forward-half in 2020 and could come right into SuperCoach calculations after a good summer.
Blake Acres (FWD, MID $384,400)
Averaged 106 points per game playing as a pure wingman in the first five rounds of 2018 but has jumped between roles since. Is likely, however, to lock down a permanent midfield spot at his new club. Can’t be taken lightly.
Connor Blakely (DEF $411,500)
Is far better than the 76-point average of 2019 – a year when he spent most of his time at half-back – suggests. Averaged 110 points per game, playing predominantly in the midfield, from Round 6 onwards in 2017 before injury. Do not dismiss.
Brett Bewley (FWD $252,700)
Enjoying another terrific preparation, dominated the summer time trials and is likely to benefit from the departures of wingman Ed Langdon and Brad Hill. Keep in mind.
Luke Ryan (DEF $520,400)
Passed the 85-point mark in 13 of his 18 matches last year, posting six SuperCoach tons along the way, and is among the major players in defence.
Sean Darcy (RUCK $402,800)
The young big man is finally ready to lead the Dockers in the ruck full a full year and, after averaging 75 points over the first 26 games of his career, looks capable of featuring prominently in 2020. Keep in mind, especially in SuperCoach Draft.
Adam Cerra (DEF $338,900)
More midfield minutes beckon for the classy 20-year-old, who is a likely improver in his third season.
Jesse Hogan (FWD $327,600)
Resuming from season-ending footy surgery but can feature prominently on his day and must be respected at the price. May need the outing but there’s some value here.
Darcy Tucker (FWD, MID $398,400)
Posted three SuperCoach tons last year – after recording just one in his first three seasons – and looks capable of better in 2020.
Rory Lobb (RUCK $472,800)
Resuming from shoulder surgery and can figure on his day, as 10 scores of 80 or more and three SuperCoach tons last year, suggests. Hard to recommend in the classic format, however, unless he’s the No. 1 ruckman.
Matt Taberner (FWD $426,600)
Is enjoying a good preparation after recovering from a serious foot injury and is better than last start – 65 points against the Bombers – suggests. Booted 13 goals and averaged 80 points in the first eight matches of the year.
Nathan Wilson (DEF $372,000)
Can figure but others have much stronger claims at the price.
James Aish (DEF $353,000)
Is likely to add the Dockers’ line-up from Round 1 but he’s unlikely to feature in SuperCoach this year, regardless of the role.
Ethan Hughes (DEF $364,100)
Can figure, as 120-point performance against the Cats in Round 20 last year suggests, but he’s hard to recommend on that alone.
Brandon Matera (FWD $342,900)
Plays a role but not in SuperCoach.
Alex Pearce (DEF $297,700)
Very limited preparation after more surgery in December but is a key to the Docker defence.
Joel Hamling (DEF $342,400)
The 26-year-old is important to new coach Justin Longmuir but look elsewhere in SuperCoach.
MAKING THEIR CASE
Second-year players Luke Valente (MID $123,900) and Sam Sturt (FWD $123,900) have been pushing their case for a debut over summer, while the No. 8 pick from last year’s draft, Caleb Serong (MID $175,800) should feature at some stage.
Griffin Logue (DEF $339,900), Reece Conca (MID $372,000), Brennan Cox (FWD $305,500) and Cam McCarthy (FWD $289,200) would all be unlucky to miss on team balance but it highlights the growing depth at Fremantle.
David Mundy (DEF $483,500) is a still a walk-up start to the best 22 but surgery to repair a broken leg in December has put him on the sidelines indefinitely.
