KFC SuperCoach: The best and worst scores from the sixth round
Cyril Rioli was a solid KFC SuperCoach performer, but wasn’t known for his high ceiling. But at this point six years ago the excitement machine posted a big score, failing to make a single error.

BEST ROUND 6 SCORES
It comes as little surprise to see Gary Ablett top the Round 6 charts – as he did in last week’s fifth round addition.
But the former Cat bringing up the rear would come as a shock to most SuperCoaches.
While not quite as decorated as his 251-point stunner, Gary Ablett’s double century against North Melbourne nine years later at age 32 shows his remarkable output remained a constant.
Ablett ran amok against North Melbourne, his bunny across his career, posting a ridiculous total of 210 points. It came from a stat line that needs to be seen to be believed – 45 disposals, 27 contested possessions, an insane 18 clearances, 14 score involvements and nine tackles.
Not even those prolific numbers could lead the lowly Suns to a win, going down by 23-points on the night.
Four years earlier it was Allen Christensen who recorded his highest score of his career in just his third season. Christensen’s 28 possessions, six tackles, five frees for and three goals against the Tigers in 2013 yielded 179 points – the second ranked sixth round total in the current scoring system.
He went on to average 92 points that year, heights the injury riddled forward-mid has been unable to reach since.
His mammoth score just trumps Leigh Montagna’s 176-point effort in Round 6 of 2014, along with perhaps the most obscure name on this list, Paul Duffield.
After scoring just 55 points the previous week in a tagging role, the Duff man responded with 34 disposals, eight marks and 175 points. His temperamental scoring continued with a 59-point total in his next game, before pumping out scores of 150, 92, 163 and 128.
ROUND 6 SURPRISE PACKET
Cyril Rioli – 154 points vs Richmond in Round 6, 2014
Cyril Rioli was known for being a high impact player but despite being a reasonable scorer, he rarely produced top-end totals. However, in Round 6 of 2014 Rioli went to town on a hapless Tiger outfit, posting 154 points from just 17 disposals. But they came at the highest quality, not missing a target for the day and tallying nine score involvements, six tackles and booting four goals.
ROUND 6 STINKER
Brendan Fevola – 13 points vs Adelaide in Round 6, 2008
Let’s cast our minds back to Round 6, 2008 for one of the more unlikely stinkers. Blues spearhead Brendan Fevola was in blistering form coming off 23 goals and scores of 148, 120 and 116 in his last three games. But that hot streak came to an abrupt end when he met Adelaide defensive duo Nathan Bock and Ben Rutten. Despite spending every minute on the ground, Fevola barely crept into double figures, managing just six disposals, four marks, a goal and 13 SuperCoach points. Bock (64 minutes) and Rutten (54 minutes) shared the load on Fevola and the former dined out himself. Bock matched Fevola’s goal tally and collected 22 disposals, finishing the game with three Brownlow votes. But Fev didn’t let the down game get to him, slotting nine majors in his next two matches.
