KFC SuperCoach 2021: Expert Al Paton names his top 20 cash cows

Avoid the cash cow crisis — pick these cheapies who will set you on the path to KFC SuperCoach glory.

How to play KFC SuperCoach AFL 2021 update

We are on the verge of a KFC SuperCoach cash cow crisis.

Getting the right cheapies in your starting squad is the key to a successful season in Australia’s biggest and best fantasy game.

These are the players who not only create salary cap space to allow you to pick the big-name stars, but contribute to your score each week and — crucially — increase in value allowing you to cash them in for stars during the season.

But some of the most selected rookies are unlikely to play in Round 1.

None of Will Gould (in 45 per cent of SuperCoach teams), Finlay Macrae (35 per cent), Will Phillips (28 per cent), Jacob Wehr (28 per cent), Luke Valente (27 per cent) or Corey Durdin (23 per cent) were in their team’s best 25 players selected to play in the AAMI Community Series — a giant flashing SuperCoach alarm.

But the good news is a host of cheapies did play, and some surprised with standout performances that all but sealed their selection when the real stuff starts.

Watch teams selection and any announcements of AFL debuts with interest, but here’s my take on the best 20 cash cows in KFC SuperCoach this year.
