Every SuperCoach score from the 2018 JLT Community Series

MAX Gawn and Nat Fyfe should be locked into every SuperCoach team, but what about Shane Savage? See the biggest bargains, potential traps and what the numbers mean. SEE EVERY SCORE

Captain SuperCoach

GET Gawn or go home.

That’s the clear takeaway when reviewing every SuperCoach score from the JLT Series.

The Melbourne ruckman is already the most popular player in Australia’s biggest fantasy sports game and his ownership could soar to new heights after posting scores of 144 and 125 in his two pre-season matches.

Gawn tops the averages just ahead of another underpriced superstar. Dockers captain Nat Fyfe scored 161 and 107 and looks another must-have selection in 2018.

There are some less familiar names behind those two in the top 10, led by St Kilda defender Shane Savage, who posted 145 against Carlton and 113 against Melbourne. He has scored big in patches before — if you think he can keep this up for a whole season he’s a great buy.

The biggest bolter is Fyfe’s teammate Matt Taberner, who played eight matches last year for an average of 59 points. He warmed up in the Dockers’ first JLT game with 99 points than exploded against West Coast with 23 disposals, 12 marks, two goals and 147 SuperCoach points. He could be a massive bargain — or a SuperCoach disaster waiting to happen. Will you take the punt?

Stats gurus Champion Data have also broken down the points per minute numbers for all 523 players who took part in the pre-season, giving more meaning to players like Zach Merrett who scored 29 and 140 in his two matches.

Closer inspection reveals Merrett, who was hurt early in Essendon’s first game, played just 46.9 per cent of game time across the two matches, scoring at a rate of 1.54 points per minute — No.2 in the comp behind Fyfe.
