STURT Football Club is warning fans against buying items of Double Blues memorabilia online which it says remain the property of the club.
A statement posted on the club's website today urges fans to treat any online deals on Sturt historic items carefully.
"The club is extremely disappointed to advise that a person… has removed valuable Sturt owned artefacts from the club and is now endeavoring (sic) to sell them online," the statement says.
"Please therefore be aware that...the club will be taking formal action to have them returned."
Sturt chief executive Matt Benson said items including badges and admission tickets were missing.
He believed they had been removed over a period of four to six months from last year.
The club is yet to report the matter to police, Mr Benson said.
"We ask people be very wary on making offers, specifically on badges and admission tickets, because they may be property of the Sturt Football Club," Mr Benson said.
"My main concern is that the club gets back what it owns.
"We're keen to sit down and work through the issue with (the person who has the items)."
Mr Benson said the club had received professional advice on recovering the goods.
The Eastern Courier Messenger has contacted police for comment.
