MIDFIELDERS Toby Stribling and Todd Pfeiffer have quit South Adelaide and are set to play in the Western Border league for the rest of the season.
It is believed the pair told the club they were not enjoying their football and wanted to be released from their contracts.
East Gambier has requested transfers for Stribling and Pfeiffer.
"We all have been challenged about our performances here this year - coaches, players, the board and staff," Panthers football manager Neil Sharpe said.
"When things get too difficult you either tough it out or walk away."
Stribling returned to the league side last weekend after a week in the reserves and was named best for the Panthers in the loss to Norwood.
South also lost Keegan Brooksby for Sunday's battle against West Adelaide at Noarlunga after the ruckman damaged his ankle in the early minutes of the contest against the Redlegs.
Shannon Snook, John McDonald and Daniel Bass have come into the side.
The BLOODS named James Ezard, Nick Homburg, Michael Still and Matthew Rankine in a 23-man squad. Shannon Green (groin) and Tom Keough (foot) were ruled out.
Henry Slattery, recruited from Essendon, will make his season debut with the PORT ADELAIDE reserves against Woodville-West Torrens at Alberton on Sunday after recovering from a hip problem.
Just how much game time Slattery gets will be determined after Magpies coach Ken McGregor chats with the medical staff.
Slattery has been training on a modified program but was expected to complete the full session last night. He has opted to delay surgery until the end of the season.
The Magpies added John Butcher and Casey Carr to the league 21 who conquered Central District at Elizabeth last weekend.
The EAGLES could go into the contest unchanged after adding Jarred Allmond, who has overcome a hamstring complaint which sidelined him for four weeks, and Chris Hall to the 21 who beat the Panthers before last week's bye.
"Jarred could have played last week if we didn't have the bye," Eagles football manager Trent Hentschel said.
Eagles coach Michael Godden gave his players a few days off before they resumed training with a testing session on Monday night.
Crows-listed Ian Callinan is back in the BULLDOGS' line-up for tomorrow's battle against Norwood at Elizabeth. Luke Habel has also been added to the 21 who were beaten by the Magpies.
Crows-listed Sam Shaw will front for the Bulldogs' reserves because his SANFL outfit Glenelg has the bye.
The REDLEGS will be without youngster James Aish because of state under-18 duty. Full back Alex Georgiou and Matthew Fuller are available after shrugging off injury concerns and Liam Davis has been included in an extended squad.
