SOUTH Adelaide cruised home against an undermanned Adelaide team in a SANFL trial at Noarlunga on Friday night.
The Panthers rotated 27 players through the game compared to the Crows’ 22 and the extra numbers showed.
After trailing by 11 points at halftime South kicked seven goals to three to notch an 18-point win.
Matt Crouch and Cameron Ellis-Yolmen fought hard in a Crows’ midfield which looks a bit light on numbers as the SANFL season approaches.
Kyle Hartigan and Rory Laird played strong games in defence while the rest of the fringe AFL players - including Josh Jenkins, Jared Petrenko and Jarryd Lyons - floated in and out of the game.
Jenkins set up a pair of goals in the first term but spent most of the game in the backline.
Jack Osborn and Ian Callinan finished well in front of goal to help the Crows to a four goal to two second term but South controlled proceedings from then on.
The Panthers better players included experienced midfield duo Nick Liddle and Joel Cross and recruits Adam Gulden and Matt Rose.
South is playing a far more structured style under new coach Brad Gotch, defending more as a unit and switching the ball more often to start its attack.
