It has been a horror start to the season for Essendon but the pain is only just beginning according to Herald Sun footy reporter Jay Clark.
Speaking on this week’s episode of KFC SuperFooty TV, Clark predicted the Bombers would lose their first nine games of the season.
As it stands after two weeks, Essendon is second last on the ladder having given up a 40 point advantage to Hawthorn in Round 1 and being smashed by Port Adelaide in Round 2.

The Bombers’ next seven games are against St Kilda, Sydney, Brisbane, Collingwood, Carlton, GWS and Fremantle.
“Having a look at their fixture, I reckon they will be 0-9 heading into that Round 10 clash against North Melbourne,” Clark said.
“They have lost half their midfield with (Jye) Caldwell, (Sam) Draper and Dylan Shiel going down, we are going to see more kids. I think they were already the youngest team at the weekend.”
But a disastrous win-loss record may only be the start of Essendon’s problems, with gun midfielder Zach Merrett a free agent at the end of the season.
“Essendon are confident of keeping him but if they’re 0-9 and he is thinking, ‘When are we going to play finals? We are another four years away’, if they finish second last, get pick two and pick three for him, maybe that helps the rebuild.”
Also on this week’s episode the guys talked about the struggling Blues, Greater Western Sydney, Darcy Moore and the rule changes.
