Brownlow Medallist Ollie Wines has been cleared by his cardiologist to train and play against North Melbourne this week, after he was subbed out Port Adelaide’s thrilling win over Hawthorn with heart palpitations.
But young defender Josh Sinn is facing six-weeks on the sidelines as his horror run with injury continues.
Wines was subbed out of the Power’s last gasp one-point win over the Hawks at quarter time after he realised he had heart palpitations.
It was the second time in just over two years that the 29-year-old was subbed out of a game with the condition.
But while he had to go to hospital the first time it happened - in the Round 4 loss to Melbourne in 2022 - there was no such concern on Sunday with Wines staying around the celebrate the win in the Power’s rooms.
Wines has had the issue occur at training and has medication that he takes to slow his heart rate down.
After the Hawks win Power senior coach Ken Hinkley said Wines could face North Melbourne on Saturday and the former co-captain has had the all clear from his cardiologist to train and take on the Roos in Hobart.
The Power will have captain Connor Rozee and defender Lachie Jones available for the clash.
Port won’t have young defender Sinn, who had surgery on Monday on a broken collarbone he suffered in the final quarter on Sunday.
It continues a horror run with injury for the 12th pick of the 2021 Draft.
Draftee Lachlan Charleson has suffered a sprained medial ligament and will spend around six weeks on the sidelines as well.
