LONG serving North Adelaide statistician and electronic scoreboard operator Dennis Burchett will be remembered as a committed servant of the club and a great bloke.

Burchett died after suffering a heart attack on Monday, June 17. He was 63.

North Adelaide chief executive Greg Edwards spoke at Burchett's funeral on Tuesday, June 25.

Edwards told the City North Messenger Burchett was much loved at the club and be missed by all.

"Dennis was a very articulate man, who was passionate about his football and passionate about this football club," Edwards said.

"He ran our online scoreboard and he was involved with our stats team for about 16 years.

"He was a fantastic volunteer for the club, and he was really popular, and just a really good bloke."

Burchett was named North Adelaide's volunteer of the year in 2007.

He worked for the Australian Taxation Office for about eight years, most recently in superannuation.

Burchett was also known among friends for being a passionate observer of SANFL umpiring, and, occasionally, a constructive critic.

North players wore black armbands in honour of Burchett during their win over Sturt at Prospect last Saturday.

Burchett is survived by wife Tetyana and children Rachel, Nick, Natalie and Vera.
