Richmond has lost premiership defender Nick Vlastuin to injury for its clash with Port Adelaide on Sunday.

Vlastuin suffered a corked leg in the Tigers’ loss to Essendon in round 10 and was withdrawn on Friday after initially being named on Thursday night.

The Tigers have brought back talls Tylar Young and Ben Miller to face a Power side without Travis Boak after the former skipper was ruled out with rib soreness on Friday afternoon.

Small forward Junior Rioli returns from suspension to help bolster their forward stocks, while Lachie Jones is back for his first game since round three.

Collingwood has dropped Will Hoskin-Elliott for its contest against North Melbourne, with the 29-year-old making way for last week’s substitute Jack Ginnivan.

Hoskin-Elliott has been a senior regular for the Pies since joining the club in 2017, playing 24 games last year and every match so far in 2023.

The Roos will be boosted by the return of Cam Zurhaar but veteran Liam Shiels will miss with injury, while youngsters Blake Drury and Paul Curtis have been omitted.

Adelaide will welcome back plenty of tall timber with Taylor Walker, Tom Doedee, Riley Thilthorpe and Josh Worrell all named as inclusions to take on Brisbane on Sunday afternoon.

Double Blues bombshell as Cats pull Irish debut shock

Carlton has dumped Jack Silvagni and key defender Lewis Young for big man Tom De Koning in a bid to snap its three-game losing streak against Sydney Swans on Friday night.

The Blues axed Silvagni for the first time this season after the hard-working forward failed to kick a goal in each of the past three games and averaged 12 disposals over that stretch.

It means De Koning, who is one of the most sought-after players in the game, will return for the first time since Round 5 to help bolster the Blues’ ruck and goal scoring power.

It is a high-stakes game for Carlton which has won only one of its past six matches and is in danger of losing touch with the eight despite high expectations on it to break its finals drought.

But De Koning could help give the Blues an edge in the aerial battle against a club which has been hard hit by injuries down the spine.

Geelong will also unveil its latest Irish star for his AFL debut on Saturday, with Oisin Mullin set to face the Giants.

Mullin, who joined the Cats as a Category B rookie and has played only three VFL games, was one of Ireland’s most exciting young Gaelic football talents before he was drafted by the Cats last year.

Superstar midfielder Patrick Dangerfield remains out with a calf complaint.

Essendon has welcomed back important stopper Jayden Laverde, star midfielder Dylan Shiel and defensive forward Matt Guelfi for the clash against West Coast on Saturday night.

Essendon ruckman Andrew Phillips was dropped along with livewire Jayden Davey, rebounding defender Masimo D’Ambrosio and makeshift full defender Kaine Baldwin.

The inclusions are a significant boost for the Bombers as they chase a finals berth in Brad Scott’s first season in charge despite a crippling run of injuries over the first half of the season.

The Eagles have made four changes including the comeback of injury-hit midfielder Elliot Yeo and jet backman Tom Barrass.

Brisbane’s Darcy Gardiner replaces injured defender Jack Payne for the clash against Adelaide on Sunday.
