Promising young Adelaide tall Josh Worrell hasn’t been charged after he was pulled over by police on Sunday morning. But that doesn’t mean he won’t be punished.

Second-year Crow Josh Worrell may face a club sanction after being caught by police using his phone while driving and with a blood alcohol reading of 0.056 on Sunday morning.
The 19-year-old has not been charged or ordered to appear in court, but will be issued with an expiation notice after he was stopped by police in the western suburbs.
Worrell, who has a probationary driver’s licence, had stayed at a teammate’s house on Saturday night before driving home on Sunday morning, when he was stopped by police about 9am.

Adelaide’s head of football Adam Kelly said the matter was being handled by the police but the club would consider enforcing its own sanction on the emerging defender.
“Josh is disappointed and rightfully so as this behaviour is clearly a breach of our standards and those of the community,” Kelly said.
Worrell was drafted by Adelaide with Pick 28 last year from TAC Cup side the Sandringham Dragons. He shone as both a forward and defender in his draft year but is yet to make his AFL debut.
