Prolific Northern Knights midfielder Joel Trudgeon has further increased his lead atop of the NAB League Super Rankings with another blistering performance against Oakleigh Chargers on Saturday.
The 18-year-old, who is the brother of Carlton AFLW player Paige Trudgeon, had another day out against the Chargers, logging 30 disposals, eight marks, four clearances, nine tackles, one goal and 185 KFC SuperCoach ranking points.
A versatile 185cm onballer, Trudgeon is the Knights’ captain this year and is described as a player who is a true professional and genuine competitor.
“He competes really well across all facets of the game and being competitive is what he says is his key strength,” Northern Knights coach Leigh Clarke said.
“He can play back, mid and forward in three different quarters and be able to do that no problem.
“The way he prepares himself and the young man he is around our program is really positive.”

Trudgeon was the top-ranked player on the ground, pipping teammate Josh Ward who recorded 34 disposals, six clearances and eight score involvements.
Collingwood father-son prospect Nick Daicos was not far behind, continuing an ultra-consistent start to the season with a workmanlike 37-disposal and one goal game for the Chargers.
Greater Western Victoria Rebels defender Sam Breuer recorded the highest SuperCoach score of the weekend with 198 points in his side’s match against Murray Bushrangers.
Breuer, who turns 18 next Saturday, is the son of former Geelong and Port Adelaide player Shayne Breuer, who played 71 games for the Cats and 54 games for the Power during the 1990s.
The 183cm rebounding defender recorded 35 disposals, 12 tackles and took four marks against the Bushrangers.
