Tom Lynch picks Richmond but plenty of AFL stars might change homes in trade period
THE trade period isn’t all about Tom Lynch and Andrew Gaff, there are plenty of other players who could be packing their bags in the off-season.

WE know most of the big names set for a change of scenery in the off-season.
But it’s not all about Andrew Gaff and Tom Lynch.
SAM EDMUND has been working the phones to give you the latest on all the players who might be packing their bags later this month.

TOM LYNCH
Football’s worst-kept secret has finally been confirmed — Tom Lynch finally named Richmond as his club of choice.
Interestingly, it was Gold Coast who broke the news on Twitter. One last stuff you?
“I think my time there (at the Suns) had come up,” Lynch said.
“It would be nice to play finals next year. I’ve never played finals before.”
The free agency window opens on Friday.
WHILE WE’RE ON THE SUNS…
Hopefully Stuart Dew is good with names, given footy’s version of musical chairs about to take place at Metricon Stadium.
Potentially following Lynch out the door will be Kade Kolodjashnij (to Melbourne), Jack Martin (Essendon), Aaron Hall (North Melbourne) and Jack Scrimshaw (Hawthorn).
Those possibly coming the other way include Tigers Anthony Miles and Corey Ellis and Cat George Horlin-Smith. Richmond forward Jacob Townsend has also been linked with a move to the Suns and also St Kilda.
WHICH BRINGS US TO THE BIG SQUEEZE...
With Lynch on board, the Tigers would now boast a big six each earning mega coin — Dustin Martin, Dion Prestia, Jack Riewoldt, Alex Rance, Trent Cotchin and Lynch.
Which is why the likes of Miles, Ellis, Townsend and possibly Reece Conca have been linked with moves elsewhere.
DYLAN SHIEL
Jetted by Carlton to Noosa on Tuesday and at the centre of a four-club tug of war that includes St Kilda, Hawthorn and Essendon.
The Saints have made the most lucrative offer, the Hawks are a top-four team with obvious appeal and the Blues are quietly confident.

WHILE WE’RE ON THE BLUES...
While they chase hard for Shiel, the Blues and Crows are working on a trade for Mitch McGovern, but that doesn’t appear to hold many concerns for either club.
Will Setterfield and Alex Fasolo have also been linked with Brendon Bolton’s side. Luke Dunstan has been too, but that move was hosed down by his management.
JESSE HOGAN
Yet to tell the Demons he wants out, but in discussions with his management is now open to move to Fremantle.
The Demons are believed to be accepting of the idea given they would hold the whip hand for a star young forward still under contract for another year. The Dees’ starting position would be to ask for Freo’s pick 5.
The Dockers are pursuing Rory Lobb, but could also lose Lachie Neale to the Brisbane Lions, who have pick four.
MARCUS ADAMS
Only “The Specimen” can tell us why he wants to play elsewhere next year. Signed a contract extension tying him to the Dogs until the end of 2020 only last year before the jungle drums started beating over a return home to WA.
Then came interest from Collingwood and now reports have him joining the Brisbane Lions on a four-year deal.
DOM TYSON
Wants to play inside midfield, but found it increasingly difficult to do that in a Melbourne side that bats deep in that position.
Essendon among the potential suitors.
CHAD WINGARD
Port Adelaide say he’s staying and that they’ve been told by the player himself.
But Wingard’s manager Tom Petroro responded by saying those reports were “categorically untrue”.

JACK MARTIN
Martin still hasn’t requested a trade from the Suns but is interested in joining the Bombers, who have long been admirers.
Martin is contracted to Gold Coast for 2019 and while a lot of work would need to be done to secure a trade, he remains a chance to leave the club.
SYDNEY
Ryan Clarke has met with Sydney and Nic Newman has met with North Melbourne. Straight swap anyone?
The Swans are also keen on Melbourne hard nut Aaron vandenBerg, who has remained unsigned at Melbourne.
Sydney have also had a nibble at Darcy Moore, with football boss Tom Harley saying they could declare their hand on Wednesday.
Dan Hannebery will be traded to St Kilda.
SAM LLOYD
His manager described him as Richmond’s “23rd man”, with the forward set for a move to the Western Bulldogs.
Lloyd will get the opportunity he craves at the kennel, with the Dogs expected to part with a late pick in exchange.
BRAYDON PREUSS
Melbourne star Max Gawn says he has spoken to Preuss, who wants to play for the Dees.
Gawn said Melbourne could operate with a two ruckmen — a tactic West Coast used to devastating effect in this year’s finals series to blunt he and Brodie Grundy.
