Channel 7 is bringing two of the best players of the modern era together for a blockbuster Friday night commentary team.
New recruit Luke Hodge, who joined the network in November, is being thrown into the prime time slot alongside fellow AFL great Wayne Carey.
Hodge impressed in the special comments chair when he was available during his final season of playing at the Brisbane Lions last year.
The four-time Hawthorn premiership star will fly down from Brisbane, where he's decided to stay permanently with his family, each week for the television gig.

Geelong premiership captain Cameron Ling and Richmond great Matthew Richardson have ridden shotgun with Carey on Friday nights for the past few seasons.
They will switch over to Thursday nights which has become a marquee night for the AFL who has increased the number of games to nine for 2020.
Richardson is likely to still feature on the boundary on a Friday night although AFLW star Daisy Pearce, who had the gig during the finals, is expected to have more screen time.
Ling will feature again across the weekend while AFL legend Leigh Matthews will return as the Sunday afternoon expert.
Brownlow Medallist Jimmy Bartel remains with the network but Seven are likely to continue to try new faces such as former Essendon captain Jobe Watson who was a revelation in the special comments chair last year.
CAT’S AWKWARD PARKING MISTAKE
She’s the most exciting player at Geelong so understandably Nina Morrison is cut some slack.
The story goes she told Cats officials she had to leave her car at GMHBA Stadium over the weekend.
That wasn't an issue but they did explain that there was an area where the broadcast trucks would set up.
When the Geelong players arrived on Sunday morning ahead of their clash with Brisbane, this is what they found … Nina's car sandwiched in-between the Fox Footy trucks.
