Midfielder Harry Schoenberg, Adelaide’s second pick at last week’s AFL national draft, will follow in the footsteps of Richard Douglas and two-time premiership captain Mark Bickley and wear the No. 26 jumper in 2020.

“I’ll be very proud to wear No. 26,” Schoenberg, who grew up a Crows supporter, told the club’s website.

“It’s pretty special, a few great Crows have worn that over time.”

Adelaide’s highest-ever draft selection Fischer McAsey will wear the No. 35 jumper in his first season in the AFL, moving in next to fellow tall Elliot Himmelberg in the lockeroom.

His former Sandringham teammate Josh Worrell takes over the No. 24 guernsey left vacant by former big man Sam Jacobs, while fellow national draftees Ronin O’Connor (No. 37) and Lachlan Gollant (No. 44) were also handed their playing numbers for 2020 as they joined the club for their first week of pre-season training.
