RICHMOND coach Damien Hardwick has slammed the AFL goal review system after two controversial decisions went against the Tigers in the win over Collingwood. RE-CAP SUNDAY’S GAMES HERE

DAMIEN Hardwick has demanded the AFL fix the score review system after two decisions left the Richmond coach reeling at the MCG.

Richmond held off a courageous Collingwood to win by 43 points, a margin Hardwick said was “flattering” to his side. REPORT: WERE MAGPIES REAL WINNERS AT MCG? REPORT: DEES FIND FORM, DONS SHOULD SEEK SHELTER REPORT: MEDAL TIE IRONIC END TO WEEK OF FIGHTING Hardwick said despite the victory he thought the Tigers were out pressured by Collingwood, but it was the score review process that caused him to vent post-match. Richmond had a goal overturned in the second term after it was reviewed to have been touched, but the vision shown to spectators was Lynden Dunn touching the ball that appeared over the goal line. It’s believed the goal was touched off the boot, but that vision was never shown, making it confusing for fans and Hardwick. A Jack Riewoldt goal was also discounted because of an unprompted score review when the game was about to re-start in the centre. “It’s a bit like the score reviews at the moment, we don’t really want to see them either, I still can’t figure them out,” Hardwick said. “My theory is, let the goal umpire make the decision, the ball goes back to the centre bounce, if they can decide in that time that it’s touched, then change it. “But if, even the second one with Jack, why are we waiting around for something that’s obviously taken so long to make a decision on? We’re looking at fingernails for god’s sake, I can’t understand it. “I found it frustrating in the box too because we had no idea … we got no replay at all so I’m not sure what they’re looking at. “ … It destroys the momentum of the game and people are perplexed … Figure it out, it’s not hard.” Hardwick praised ruckman Toby Nankervis who took it right up to star Collingwood big man Brodie Grundy. “I nearly had a heart attack when Nank had 29 possessions,” Hardwick said. “ … I know people speak about the Gawns and the Goldsteins, Grundy; I’m pumped we’ve got our bloke. “He just competes, he’s like another midfielder in there. “Does he get beaten in ruck contests? Yeah. Does he give everything? Absolutely. “He’s a fantastic player, a fantastic person, he’s been a godsend for our footy club.” LIVE stream every match of every round of the 2018 Toyota AFL Premiership Season on FOX SPORTS.
