Collingwood has pulled a selection surprise by naming Ben Reid for Sunday’s clash against the Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium.
It means for the first time in more than 18 months Nathan Buckley will play three tall forwards, with Reid joining Mason Cox and Brody Mihocek inside 50.
Reid replaces suspended forward Jaidyn Stephenson, who will serve the first of his 10-match ban for betting on three separate Collingwood matches this year.

It had been assumed the Magpies would opt for a like-for-like replacement for Stephenson in the form of father-son Josh Daicos or Ben Crocker, both of whom were named in the extended 26-man squad.
Veteran swingman Reid has played five games this season, kicking seven goals.
Sunday will be the first time Cox, Mihocek and Reid have played in the same senior team.
The Bulldogs have made four changes for the clash, recalling Josh Schache while out-of-form midfielder Toby McLean has been dropped.
High-profile St Kilda recruit Dan Hannebery will finally play his first game for the club on Saturday after being named for the clash against Brisbane.
Hannebery is one of two big inclusions for the Saints alongside gun defender Jake Carlisle, who will also play his first game for the season.
The pair have been named in place of Brandon White (injured) and Nathan Brown who has been dropped.
Hannebery has battled injury throughout his first season at Moorabbin but will finally get the opportunity to prove he’s worth the club’s massive five-year investment.
The former Swan has played two VFL games in preparation for the clash against the Lions at Marvel Stadium after building up his fitness at training following a string of soft tissue injuries.
Carlisle has missed the whole season with a back injury that required surgery on the eve of Round 1.
Hawthorn coach Alastair Clarkson hopes veteran forward Jarryd Roughead can retain his place in the senior side after his recall for Friday night’s clash against Sydney at the SCG.
But Clarkson said how long Roughead remains in the senior side — in what is expected to be his final season — will be up to the four-time premiership forward.
After suggestions Roughead may have played his last senior game after his shock axing, the 32-year-old returns for his first senior game since Round 7 following a spell in the VFL.
Roughead comes into the line-up after Hawks’ captain Ben Stratton was suspended for two weeks at the AFL tribunal for pinching and stomping this week.
Clarkson said it had never been the club’s intention to “write off Roughead’s career” and hoped he could he could hold his spot in the team.
“I’d be hopeful (he retains his place),” Clarkson said.
“It’s like any player in the side … the whole expectation around playing is that you’ve got a role to play and he’ll be judged like every one of his teammates on the contribution they can make in terms of the role that they are set to play for the side.
“If ‘Rough’ is performing his role pretty well, I’d hope he would retain his spot in the side.”
Roughead kicked eight goals from six games before he was dropped from the senior team.
Clarkson said the Hawks were pleased with what they had seen from Roughead during his time in the VFL and hoped his return would help bolster the Hawks’ marking strength.
The Hawks’ slipped two games outside of the top eight after their loss to Essendon last week.

Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley has dropped multiple selection bombshells by dropping Paddy Ryder, Justin Westhoff and Sam Powell-Pepper for Saturday night’s clash against Geelong.
But the good news is key forward Charlie Dixon will play his first AFL game since August last year when he suffered a serious ankle injury.
Dixon is joined by co-captain Ollie Wines and Brad Ebert as inclusions for the clash against the ladder-leading Cats at Adelaide Oval.
The Cats have made one change, with Darcy Fort replacing the injured Esava Ratugolea.
