Retired Western Bulldogs premiership hero Tom Boyd is considering playing local football with mates in the Eastern Football League.
Boyd grew up in the area and having retired after the physical and mental toll of AFL football is considering a run for Marty Pask’s Norwood football club.
As part of Boyd’s retirement from the league he could not instantly cross to another AFL club.

But he is permitted to play football at a lower level this year with a club like Norwood in the Eastern Football League.
Norwood, coached by former AFL player Pask, is awaiting confirmation about Boyd’s availability and expects to know more by late in the week.

But they would be thrilled to play a part in Boyd enjoying his football again if he decides to return to a lower level.
Boyd retired sacrificing more than $1.5 million of future earnings from the Dogs after a starring role in the 2016 finals and a public battle with depression.
He was lauded for his openness in detailing his symptoms after also battling a back ailment since last August.
