Mitch Hinge confirmed finals football is the goal for Adelaide after re-signing with the Crows until the end of 2026.
Hinge, who returned home to South Australia in 2021 after a two-year stint at Brisbane, played 22 games for the Crows last season.
The Glenelg product said he was excited for what’s to come at West Lakes.
“We don’t want to shy away from outside noise and expectations,” Hinge said.
“We want to be playing at the pointy end of the year.”
The penetrating left-footer wants to continue building on his career-best season last year.
Hinge said his final 12 games of 2023 were the best he had played at AFL level.
“I’ve got a few more games under my belt now and I’ve been in the system for a while so it’s pleasing to know that some of my hard work has been starting to pay off,” he said.
“I want to go to another level (in 2024) and help the team build some success.”
The likes of Jake Soligo, Max Michalanney and Josh Rachele were a big motivator for Hinge to remain part of the team moving forward.
The 25-year-old managed just four matches in his first three seasons before finding his feet across half back for the Crows.
He averaged 19.6 disposals and 4.7 marks in 22 games last season, including a career-high 31-disposal performance against the Suns in round 21.
Justin Reid, Adelaide GM of List Management and Strategy, said the club had been thrilled with Hinge’s contribution in his three years as a Crow.
“He gives us a lot of options in the defensive half and is able to set us up with his attacking left foot,” Reid said.
“As a 43-game player we feel like he’s just scratching the surface of his potential and we look forward to watching him continue to develop his game.”
