Collingwood legend Scott Pendlebury could make more history in 2025, and so could fellow Magpies star Jack Crisp.
Pendlebury is currently sitting on 403 games and should move up to third on the all-time list, needing just five games to pass Shaun Burgoyne’s tally of 407.
His next target will be Michael Tuck’s 426 games, but the two-time premiership winner and former Collingwood captain would need to go into 2026 to move past Brent Harvey’s all-time record 432 games.
Pendlebury and Steele Sidebottom should definitely break the record for most games together as teammates, needing just three to pass Adelaide duo Andrew McLeod and Tyson Edwards (307 games) who are the current record holders.
Crisp is just eight games away from breaking Melbourne great Jim Stynes’ record of 244 consecutive games.
Crisp’s projected 245th game would come in round 8 on a Saturday night against Geelong.
GAMES
Barring injury, Geelong captain Patrick Dangerfield will enter the 350-game club in 2025.
The former Adelaide and now Cats superstar is 13 games away from the milestone, which could come in round 13 against Gold Coast at GMHBA Stadium.
Collingwood’s two-time premiership veteran Steele Sidebottom and Essendon ruckman Todd Goldstein are also in line to play their 350th games in 2025.
Two of North Melbourne’s off-season recruits will bring up big milestones in blue and white.
Former West Coast forward Jack Darling is just two appearances off 300 games, while Luke Parker played 293 games for Sydney before his move to Arden Street.
Another new Kangaroo, Caleb Daniel, is closing on 200 games after playing 192 as a Bulldog while another ex-Dog, Jack Macrae, could play his 250th AFL game and first as a Saint in round 1.
Fresh off a sensational year in Brisbane’s flag triumph, Dayne Zorko could become just the second Lions player to reach 300 games.
Only star Simon Black (322) has reached the mark for the Lions and if Zorko can play 23 times in 2025, he will join the three-time premiership player and Brownlow and Norm Smith Medal winner in that club.
Down the highway, former Gold Coast captain David Swallow is set to make history for the Suns.
The former No.1 draft pick is 10 games off 250, which would make him the first Gold Coast player to reach that mark.
GWS captain Toby Greene and gun defender Lachie Whitfield could become the second and third Giants players to play 250 games in 2025.
Adelaide talisman Taylor Walker could become the fifth Crow to play 300 games, while Fremantle stars Nat Fyfe and Michael Walters are a chance to be the fourth and fifth Dockers to reach the 250-game milestone.
Mitch Duncan is four games away from 300 for Geelong, while Brisbane star Lachie Neale could play his 300th for the Lions in 2025 but would need to play deep into finals.
A host of other players are set to reach either 250 or 200 games in 2025.

GOALKICKING
As well as potentially entering the 300-game club, Taylor Walker could also become the first Crow to kick 650 goals.
Walker is on 641, so that record could come early in the season.
Cats star Jeremy Cameron is just two off 650-goals, while Darling (532) could kick his 550th in 2025.
Carlton star duo Charlie Curnow (281) and Harry McKay (252) could kick their 300th goals in 2025, as could Collingwood star Jamie Elliott (287) and Sydney duo Tom Papley (294) and Isaac Heeney (261).

Richmond will celebrate its 140th anniversary in 2025 as well.
