West Adelaide star Jason Porplyzia will miss the SANFL season after damaging his knee in the trial game against Glenelg at Richmond Oval on Friday night.
West Adelaide star Jason Porplyzia will miss the SANFL season after damaging his knee in the trial game against Glenelg at Richmond Oval on Friday night.
Scans have revealed he ruptured the ACL and will require a knee reconstruction.
Porplyzia, a premiership player with the Bloods in 2015 after returning to the club from Adelaide, also missed most of last season because of knee issues.
The injury is a huge setback for the Bloods as they look to rebound from the wooden spoon last year.
The Bloods meet South Adelaide in Richmond on Friday night in the opening round.
