FORMER Adelaide Crows star Jason Porplyzia will return to West Adelaide on a one-year deal next season in a coup for the Bloods.
Porplyzia, who kicked 181 goals in 130 matches for Adelaide from 2006-14, will also take up a Centre of Excellence coaching role at Richmond, where his SANFL career began.
“It’s absolutely fantastic news as it is really important to have our home grown talent come home,’’ West Adelaide football manager Andrew Marks said.
“With Jason’s experience, he has got so much to offer the young guys at the footy club.”
At full flight Porplyzia was one of the best small forwards in the league in 2009, when he kicked 57 goals.
Shoulder injuries dogged him in the back half of his AFL career and he retired at the end of this season.
