THE main issue for Sturt’s John Greenslade after missing the entire 2017 season was retrieving his “game sense”.
While describing his form in his comeback season as not too bad, he said he had been a little slow to start while he got his game sense back.
“You think you can kick and play, but once you lose your game sense it is different,” Greenslade said.
“It’s really good to be back, missing the whole year and the premiership, that always stings a bit.”
Greenslade ruptured his ACL in the 2016-17 pre-season and was a spectator last year when the Double Blues successfully defended the premiership.
But having played in the 2016 flag triumph, the excitement of watching the club repeat far outweighed the pain of not being involved.
There have been no dramas with the knee after being able to complete a full pre-season and he has not missed a game. His next challenge is against West Adelaide at Richmond Oval on Saturday.
“It will be another tough game,” he said. “It does not matter where teams are on the ladder, any team can beat anyone.
“That is why it is such a good competition.”
