Sturt has regained Jake Sutcliffe and Ben Hansen for the clash against Woodville-West Torrens

Last season was a massive frustration for small forward Ben Hansen as he battled to overcome injury, but he is ready to get his career back on track.

Sturt small forward Ben Hansen will make his first league appearance since 2017 after being named in a 23-man squad to front Woodville-West Torrens at Unley Oval on Saturday.

Hansen’s 2018 season comprised only two appearances in the reserves as he battled a back injury.

But he successfully negotiated the reserves in the opening round last week to prompt coach Nathan Grima to promote him to the league side.

The forward line will also regain another crucial ingredient after Jake Sutcliffe was recalled.

Sutcliffe was troubled by an Achilles problem in the pre-season, but he used the reserves lastb week to prove he had shrugged off the injury.

However, the Double Blues will be without John Greenslade after he hurt his groin in the loss to Adelaide.

Glenelg has lost brilliant midfielder Luke Partington for the clash against Adelaide at the Bay on Friday night.
