FORMER Port Adelaide key position player Ben Haren will play with South Adelaide for next season.
The Panthers yesterday announced the signing and Haren’s presence will bolster the club’s big-man strength.
Haren was drafted by Sydney in 2010 and spent the following year on the Swans’ rookie list. He returned to Alberton after being delisted and played 14 SANFL games this season.
The 21-year old is 197cm and 95kg and can be used at both ends of the ground.
“Ben addresses a couple of needs and he gives us flexibility,’’ Panthers football manager Neill Sharpe said. “He play forward and back as well as ruck.
“He needed a consistent opportunity and we feel we can give him that.’’
