SANFL season to open with three Friday night games, and Crows and Port involved in SANFL-AFL double headers
The 2020 SANFL draw will be released on Monday, with Friday night action to kick off the season and double headers involving AFL and SANFL games at Adelaide Oval on the agenda.

The SANFL’s enthusiasm for Friday night action has been reflected in the opening round next season with three games on the menu.
While the league will not be revealing the draw for 2020 until Monday, it has been confirmed Glenelg, Norwood and West Adelaide will host games on April 3.
The Tigers will open their title defence against Sturt, the Redlegs face off against 2018 champion North Adelaide at the Parade and the Bloods will be at home to Port Adelaide.

The first round will be completed the following day when South Adelaide and Adelaide meet at Noarlunga Oval and Woodville-West Torrens and Central District, both with new coaches, do battle at Woodville Oval.
There will also be as many as three SANFL games involving the Crows and Port played as curtain raisers to AFL games at Adelaide Oval.
Port has already announced it will be playing the Roosters before the Power takes on Carlton on May 2 in the club’s 150th anniversary game. The day will feature a motorcade of Port legends and premiership heroes.
“Our birthday double-header on May 2 will be a great celebration of 150 years of the Port Adelaide Football Club,’’ Port chief executive Keith Thomas said.
The Crows are also expected to have at least one double-header with their state league side in action before their the AFL contest.
Speculation is rife South Adelaide has agreed to take a home game from Noarlunga to Adelaide Oval, which was the Panthers’ home ground for many years, to face the Crows.
Port had also hoped SANFL clubs would move home games to Adelaide Oval, but it has opted to switch the match against the Roosters from Alberton Oval. Its other game against the Roosters will be at Prospect Oval.
Jacob Surjan, who made 121 appearances for the Power, will be in charge of the Roosters after taking over from Port premiership player Josh Carr.
The SANFL state side will take on the WAFL at Adelaide Oval, with the game likely to be in a double header with an AFL match.
The SANFL women’s draw will also be released on Monday with the first game on February 14. There will be 10 rounds and the title will be decided in late May.
