Port Adelaide’s Nathan Krakouer expected to miss SANFL grand final due to injury

PORT Adelaide’s Nathan Krakouer has been all but ruled out of Sunday’s SANFL grand final due to injury, just days after he was involved in an off-field incident.
The defender damaged the windscreen of a taxi outside Salisbury West Football Club at the weekend when he became frustrated because his credit card had been declined.
Power coach Ken Hinkley said the matter had been dealt with internally by the club.
But Hinkley said Krakouer, who has played 15 SANFL games for the Magpies this season, was unlikely to be passed fit due to an ongoing hamstring complaint.
“It was a simple, silly little thing that Krak got involved in which he knows he shouldn’t have got involved with,” Hinkley told 5AA.
“Krak wants to be part of the Magpies (but) he’s got a hamstring that’s probably going to hold him out.
“He’s a grown up person and he should know better than that.”
Krakouer, 29, did not feature for the Power this year.
Meanwhile, the SANFL is expecting more than 30,000 fans to flock to Adelaide Oval for the premiership decider between Port and Sturt.
The Magpies and Double Blues will face off in a grand final for the first time since 1998, following the reigning premier’s preliminary final win over Woodville-West Torrens.
SANFL chief executive Jake Parkinson hopes the clash would eclipse the 30,213 attendance at last season’s Sturt- Eagles grand final.
“We are hoping to equal or better that at Sunday’s game,” Parkinson said.
“We’ve got two of our biggest rivals in the league competing for the premiership and both have very strong followings. We want to see all fans, old and new, come out to cheer their team.”
Pre-purchased tickets for the grand final cost $25 for adults and $20 for concession – the same as last year. All pre-purchased tickets will incur a $5.65 booking fee.
Tickets at the gate cost $27 for adults and $22 for concession. Under-18s are free.
All gates at Adelaide Oval will open for spectators from 8.45am, after fans experienced delays entering the venue for last season’s grand final.
