Panthers coach wants players to build on effort against Sturt
SOUTH Adelaide coach Bradley Gotch tagged the Panthers’ win over Sturt two weeks ago as the club’s most complete performance for the season. He wants the same on Sunday against the Roosters.
SOUTH Adelaide coach Bradley Gotch tagged the Panthers’ impressive win over Sturt two weeks back as the club’s most complete performance for the season.
And he wants more of the same - another four-quarter effort - when the Panthers host struggling North Adelaide at Noarlunga on Sunday.
“We have to try and do that again, we have to be able to do it if we want to be a good side,’’ Gotch said. “We need to build on what we are trying to do.
“The mindset of the players was the key against Sturt and the leaders drove that.’’
After last week’s match against Adelaide was postponed, the Panthers lifted the workload at training to compensate and Gotch is confident the club has got the balancing act right.
While the Panthers will go into the encounter buoyed by their effort against the Double Blues, the Roosters are coming off hefty losses to Central District and West Adelaide to slip to the bottom of the ladder.
Gotch said there definitely would be no complacency within his group and the players needed to be switched on from the outset.
“We respect every opponent and we saw what North can do when they kicked six goals in a quarter against West,’’ Gotch said.
