WHAT’S in the water at Prospect given North Adelaide claimed a fourth successive win when it conquered Woodville-West Torrens away, a feat the Roosters have not achieved since 2011? Plus Darcy Fogarty’s moment to forget and Kyle Jenner’s new role.
MOMENT TO FORGET
Darcy Fogarty is obviously a highly promising talent for Adelaide.
But he had a moment he would rather forget against Norwood at The Parade on Friday night. A minute into the final quarter, Fogarty had a chance to put the Crows in front, only to hit the post from 15m directly in front.
The Redlegs took the ball forward for Lewis Johnston to kick a goal. The home side added another four unanswered goals and the lady started to sing.
WINLESS WILSON
What a changed world for Crows onballer Patrick Wilson.
His past two seasons have been memorable as a member of Sturt’s premiership sides. Drafted to the Crows at the end of last season, he has yet to have a win this season after five rounds.
Then again, the Double Blues lost their first four games last year before successfully defending their title.
PANOS KNEW BEST
There was an interesting moment 17 minutes into the third quarter at The Parade when Redlegs’ onballer Matthew Panos went to run to the action deep inside the attacking 50, only to have teammates yelling at him to stay out.
Panos threw his arms out, sort of in a confused manner. The Redlegs runner sprinted to Panos to tell him to get deep in attack.
The result was a spilled ball from the stoppage, followed by a Matthew Nunn handball to Panos, who snapped the goal.
SOME TRIVIA
A bit of trivia for this week. Tony Dew, father of former Central District champ and now the Gold Coast coach Stuey, was at Glenelg Oval on Saturday for the Bulldogs’ game against the Tigers.
There is nothing unusual about that though. Tony makes the drive from Yorke Peninsula every weekend to watch the Bulldogs in action.
I’m told Nick Holman was also at the Bay having a look at is old team take care of business before wandering off to Adelaide Oval to front for the Suns.
JENNER STOPPER
Bulldogs veteran Kyle Jenner is turning himself into a terrific run-with player.
After quelling Patrick Wilson last week, he shut down Tigers’ ball magnet Matthew Snook on the weekend.
Snook had just nine touches and spent time in the forward line. He also had to spend time in the sheds to mend a head wound.
Jenner will probably get the job on South Adelaide’s Joel Cross at Noarlunga Oval on Saturday.
ON THE BANDWAGON
Not only have we stayed on the Roosters bandwagon, we have pushed our way to the front seat after the performance against Woodville-West Torrens. We have also got Maxy Thring’s letters to sew on the back of the duffel coat.
OFF THE BANDWAGON
I’ve pushed a few blokes out of the way to jump off the Norwood bandwagon. The Redlegs might have got the chocolates against Adelaide, but it was certainly not a performance of authority.

RANKINGS
Only three games this weekend, so just six teams to rank.
1: North Adelaide — the Roosters just keep the surprises coming, now a win at Woodville Oval.
2: Central District — very impressive first half to set up a rare win at Glenelg Oval. Second halves have become an issue.
3: Eagles — kept coming at the Roosters, and are still highly competitive when beaten.
4: Glenelg — coughed up a sloppy first half and then beat the Bulldogs in the second half with a huge lift in standards.
5: Norwood — got the win over the Crows, but it was very ugly.
6: Adelaide — had a chance to pull off the upset. There were just too many mistakes.
