STURT premiership coach Marty Mattner has confirmed he will at the helm of the Double Blues for at least another season.

Mattner, who will seek a third successive SANFL after taking the Double Blues to the title in his two years in the job, has told the club’s football director Chris Thredgold he will continue in the role.

A premiership player with Sydney and the Double Blues, Mattner is contracted for next season. However, he could have opted out of the deal if there was an opportunity to return to the AFL system.

“Marty is 100 per cent committed and we move forward now and make the most of probably one more year with him,” Double Blues chief executive Sue Dewing said.

“It is great for the club and gives us stability. His resume now speaks for itself and the players really thrive under him, and not just the senior players.

“Look at what happened with the reserves, he has been influential throughout the club.”

The Double Blues also won the reserves and under 18 crowns this season.

Jarrad Wright has cut short a stint with Henley to return to South Adelaide as its senior coach next season, replacing Garry Hocking, who has taken on a coaching role with Collingwood.

A former player and assistant coach with the Panthers, Wright has signed a two-year deal.

“It is certainly a big step forward in my career, but one I am really enthusiastic about taking,” Wright said. “Obviously I played a fair bit of SANFL football with South Adelaide and Woodville-West Torrens and have also coached at both clubs.

“It certainly gives me great confidence having had relationship with the club, but also having experienced some success in my coaching career so far gives me some conviction in

what I can do.”

Wright captained the state under 18 side and was drafted by the Brisbane Lions with pick 35 in the 2001 national draft, having two years on Brisbane’s list. He played more than 100 league games with the Panthers, Eagles and Lions in the QAFL.

After coaching the Eagles reserves to the 2013 and 14 premierships, Wright was an assistant at the Panthers for two years before taking Henley to the SAAL division two flag this year.
