Glenelg’s Jesse White cleared to take on Bulldogs in SANFL battle at the Bay

GLENELG has retained Jesse White after he proved his fitness and regained enthusiastic ruckman Neil Vea Vea for the clash against Central District at Glenelg Oval.

GLENELG’S gun recruit Jesse White has been cleared to front Central District at the Bay on Saturday after proving his fitness at training on Thursday.

White had been in doubt for the battle after limping out of the game against Woodville-West Torrens late in the third quarter at Woodville Oval on Sunday.

Struck by back spasms, White had to be helped from the ground and did not return for the final quarter of the 61-point defeat.

And ruckman Neil Vea Vea is back in the line-up after missing the Eagles contest because of a minor hamstring issue.

Tigers football manager Paul Sandercock said the message from coach Mark Stone had not altered in the wake of the performance against the Eagles.

“His message is to play our own game and continue to work on areas he wants to focus on such as the defensive effort,” Sandercock said.

“Losing Terry and Ian Milera (due to personal reasons) puts a focus on where the goals will come from and moving the ball better into the forward line.”

The Tigers will appreciate the comforts of home where they almost upset Port Adelaide before thumping Norwood in their two games at the Bay this season.

The Bulldogs have lost four of their past five games at Glenelg Oval.
