THE cousins of two big-name Crows headline Adelaide’s 2015 SANFL development squad.
Kynan Betts and Matthew Johncock, cousins of star small forward Eddie Betts and former dynamic defender Graham Johncock, have been selected in the 28-man top-up squad finalised yesterday.
Forward Betts, 21, won last year’s Sunday Mail Medal in the Port Lincoln Football League while half-back Johncock, 21, spent last season with Southern Football League club Noarlunga.
Both will play for Noarlunga when they are not required by the Crows.
“They are a couple of exciting players and familiar names for our supporters to watch,’’ Adelaide general manager of football administration Phil Harper said.
The Crows, who for the second consecutive year will be captained by their former AFL player, the contracted Ian Callinan, have selected 10 other players with SANFL experience.
They are Dale Armstrong (17 games with North Adelaide), Luke Carey (10, Port Magpies), former Fremantle Docker Justin Bollenhagen (six, South Adelaide), Brock Castree (four, Central District), Addison Burns and Sam Pfeiffer (four, Crows), Matthew Stent and Charlie Molyneaux (two, Central) and Justin Smart and Myles Warmington (one, Crows).
Burns, Pfeiffer, Smart and Warmington made their SANFL debuts with Adelaide last year.
