Norwood coach Jarrod Cotton’s on for grand final, regardless of opponent
NORWOOD coach Jarrod Cotton has not waited for the result of the 19-man fiasco and has started his plans for Sunday’s grand final, starting with preliminary final winner North Adelaide.

NORWOOD coach Jarrod Cotton has started planning for a grand final confrontation against North Adelaide.
Given it is only nine days since the Redlegs clashed with Woodville-West Torrens in the second semi-final, Cotton has a “fair idea what they do” so has switched his attention to the Roosters since their controversial preliminary final win.
“I’m planning for North at the minute,” he said on Monday before a decision on the 19-man controversy.
“But my main focus is just getting the boys ready to go and what we can control.”
No matter who the Redlegs will confront in the title decider at Adelaide Oval on Sunday, Cotton has no doubt his side is primed for the challenge.
“We know our best football is good enough to beat anyone so we just focus on what we can control,” he said. “We will training tomorrow night (Tuesday night) and work on all those little things which make us better.
“That is all we have spoken about all year, what we can control.”
Cotton admits it will be only natural for his players to chat about the 19-man fiasco, but when they hit the training track it will be all about the Redlegs.
He said the side would be seeking to play its best game for the season, regardless of the opponent.
The Redlegs compensated for no action on the weekend with a training session at Richmond Oval, before watching their reserves side beat Central District in the preliminary final.
They will train at Adelaide Oval on Tuesday night when Cotton will start the selection process, claiming he is not set on the final 21.
While key forward Luke Surman had little impact in the reserves final against the Bulldogs, he was still a chance of promotion, according to Cotton.
The Redlegs were also impressed with the work of Zac Richards in the reserves, as well as Callum Bartlett.
“Our forward half pressure was pretty good against the Eagles,” Cotton said. “With Luke, it depends on whether we need the extra marking target.
“By Thursday we will have a better indication, but he is in the mix. We will go through all the different scenarios and match ups.”
