Former Sturt champion Jade Sheedy will coach Woodville-West Torrens for the next three years.
The 2002 Magarey Medallist will replace Sam Lonergan, who resigned after just one season in charge to accept a development role with Richmond.
Sheedy, who was also a candidate for the vacant Central District job, has coached Athelstone in the Adelaide Footy League for the past five years and took the club to the division two premiership last week.

“I’m really passionate about the SANFL environment,” said Sheedy, who narrowly missed out on the Eagles position last year. “I’ve always admired the Eagles from afar and even when I played against them I had a lot of time and respect for the club.
“I feel it is a good fit for me with my morals and ethics and how I am as a person. I feel the Eagles are the same as a footy club and I’m really looking forward to working with them.
“Hopefully for the Eagles and myself, it is a really good match.”
