There is nothing we like more than a unique footy jumper.

Something that catches the eye from the moment you see it.

Whether it is the colours, the logo, the design, short sleeves or long sleeves – we can’t get enough of them.

So the question needs to be asked, who has the best footy jumper at grassroots level?

We’re trying to find the most unique footy jumper from across the state.

At suburban and country level, nothing screams tradition like the black and white stripes of the Magpies team that seems to be in every competition.

Or the black and gold of the Tigers. Heck, in the Barossa, Light and Gawler competition there’s two Tigers teams — Gawler Central and Nuriootpa Rover.

That’s what happens, particularly at regional level, when leagues merge and combine to ensure towns do all they can to keep their footy teams alive, their pulses beating and their kids engaged in healthy activities.

That same process also leads to some creative team names and jumper designs.

And that’s exactly what we’re chasing. Something different. Unique. So while black and white stripes, or black and gold sashes, are absolutely central to cold Saturday afternoons, that’s not what we’re after here.

SA footy is rich with one-of-a-kind nicknames. There’s Cockle Divers, Wineflies and Cobras. Shoes, Sharks and a club formerly known as the Bushpigs.

So whether it’s necessary evolution or wonderful imagination, it only stands to reason our guernseys are just a eye-catching.

Do you think your club fits the bill? Submit your information in the form below.

Once we’ve had a chance to sort through the nominations, we’ll put the most popular suggestions to a public vote.

Entries close: Monday, May 24.
