HILLS
Grand final
Hahndorf v Onkaparinga Valley
Saturday, 2.30pm @ Echunga Oval
Can the mighty Hahndorf Magpies be toppled?
An undefeated season so far has the reigning premiers looking unbeatable and it will be up to Onkaparinga Valley to try and spoil the party.
Hahndorf boasts stat power, such as ex-Crows Matthew Jaesnch and Kyle Cheney along with Mail Medallist Dylan Matsen.
But the Dogs have been the big improvers and surprise packet of the HFL season — can they spring one last shock?
ADELAIDE PLAINS
Grand final
Two Wells v Hummocks Watchman Eagles
Saturday, 2.45pm @ Two Wells
It’s been a long time between drinks for the boys from Hummocks Watchman Eagles.
After taking care of Mallala in the first week of finals, the Port Wakefield-based club last week dispatched minor premier Balaklava from the premiership race to book its first grand final berth in more than a decade — a premiership win in 2008.
But they will have their work cut out against a Roosters side shooting for a hat-trick of flags and featuring league medallist Tyrell Hocking, son of fan favourite Eddie.
Two Wells got the chocolates in both encounters this year, a 17-point win in Port Wakefield in June and a 60-point thumping in Two Wells last month.
Home-ground advantage will only help their cause.
SOUTHERN
Grand final
Noarlunga v Flagstaff Hill
Saturday, 2.30pm @ Noarlunga Oval
A Southern Football League showdown looms between powerhouses Noarlunga and Flagstaff Hill.
Can Noarlunga keep its unbeaten run in 2019 and win is first flag since 2015 or will the battle-hardened Flaggies make it four flags in a row?
The Shoes will be hoping for a senior double in the B grade against Christies Beach. Game day begins at 8am with the under-13 final.
GREAT SOUTHERN
Grand final
Langhorne Creek v Willunga
Saturday, 2.30pm @ McLaren Vale Oval
Arch rivals Langhorne Creek and Willunga will lock horns to determine this season’s champ. The Creek will be hunting for back-to-back flags, while Willunga is aiming for its first flag since 2009 when its consecutive run of six flags ended.
Central to determining the result will be the ruck duel between the Demons’ Mail Medallist Daniel Bass and Hawks runner-up James Sellar.
Game day kicks off at 9.15am with the junior colts final.
SPENCER GULF
Grand final
South Augusta v Solomontown
Saturday, 2.40pm @ Central Oval, Port Augusta
These two sides meet in the Spencer Gulf playoff for the third season in a row. Can South Augusta achieve the four peat or will Solomontown finally shake the bridesmaid tag and win its first premiership since 2014?
The Bulldogs will start favourite after winning the past six games, including a 56-point win against the Cats at Central Oval on August 24.
But the Pirie side has hit top form in the finals, beating cross-town rival Prop-Risdon for the first time this season by 18 points in the preliminary final to send the Lions out in straight sets.
Giving the Cats extra confidence will be the fact they dished out the Bulldogs’ only two lickings this season.
RIVER MURRAY
Grand final
Ramblers v Mypolonga
Saturday, 2.30pm @ Johnstone Park (Murray Bridge)
Ramblers take on Mypolonga with both sides enjoying premierships in recent seasons. Ramblers, second at the end of the minor round, beat Mypo in the second semi-final by 14 points with Matthew Altmann starring with four goals.
Mypo met Imperials in the preliminary final and did a number on them by 95 points with Clint Diment among the leading lights. Mypo’s most recent flag was in 2017, while Ramblers last saluted in 2016. Action begins with the under-13 final at 9am.
PORT LINCOLN
Grand final
Tasman vs Mallee Park
Saturday, 2.40pm @ Centenary Oval
Mallee Park booted 13 goals to two in the second half against Marble Range last week to earn the right to contest for their first flag since 2016 in a 69-point romping.
The Peckers are blessed with speed, including Mail Medallist Casey Amos and runner-up and former Hawthorn player Derick Wanganeen.
But minor premier Tasman boasts plenty of firepower, including steady leg of league-leading goalkicker (and The Recruit winner) Johann Wagner.
The sides have played some rippers this season, with the Roosters escaping with a four-point win last month and then getting over the line by five points in the second semi-final.
They will start a narrow favourites to go back to back.
MID SOUTH EAST
Grand final
Glencoe v Kalangadoo
Saturday, 2pm @ Mt Burr
Momentum is a big thing in football and it could be on the side of Kalangadoo on Saturday.
The Magpies have come from fourth to storm into the decider against the high-scoring Murphys, who are led by star forward Brodie Foster.
Kalangadoo, which had tight wins in both encounters between the two sides earlier this season, last took out the MSE premiership in 2014 while Glencoe haven’t won one for 12 years.
NORTH EASTERN
Grand final
Blyth Snowtown v BSR
Saturday, 2.30pm @ Burra Oval
BSR will be chasing its third consecutive flag when it takes on Blyth Snowtown in the season decider, the second consecutive grand final for both clubs. BSR, third at the end of the minor round, accounted for North Clare in the first semi-final and proved too strong for South Clare in the preliminary final. Isaac Moller dominated for BSR with seven goals. Minor premier Blyth Snowtown booked its GF berth by beating South Clare by 19 points in the second semi-final with Ryan Darling leading the way. The day kicks off at 9am with the under-14 grand final.
